Rack-mounted Liquid Cooling Load
1. Working Principle
- Electricity to heat: The internal resistance unit converts electric energy into heat to simulate the power consumption and heat generation of servers.
- Liquid circulation cooling: Deionized water or ethylene glycol coolant flows through the cold plate of the load driven by water pumps to take away heat. The heated coolant exchanges heat with external cold water via CDU (Cooling Distribution Unit), then cools down and recirculates.
2. Main Components
- Load Unit: High-power resistor array with low inductance design, simulating power consumption of IT equipment.
- Liquid Cooling Module: Composed of cold plates, quick connectors, solenoid valves and flow/pressure/temperature sensors, to monitor and regulate coolant circulation.
- Control System: Consists of PLC/ single-chip microcomputer and upper computer. It supports local and remote control, enables constant power & constant current operation, and records operating data in real time.
- Safety Protection: Equipped with liquid leakage detection, over-temperature, over-current and short-circuit protection, water shortage alarm and insulation monitoring, to guarantee the safety of cabinets and computer rooms.
3. Core Advantages
- Excellent Heat Dissipation Performance: The thermal conductivity of liquid is about 25 times that of air, and its heat dissipation capacity per unit volume is 3000 times that of air cooling. It supports high-density heat dissipation over 200kW per cabinet, breaking the limit of air cooling solutions.
- Energy Saving: Lower heat dissipation power consumption than air cooling, effectively reducing PUE.
- Low Noise & Vibration: No high-speed fans, featuring low operating noise, ideal for quiet computer rooms and office environments.
